Series 1 of record group 74-50 consists of subject files maintained by the Conservation Division (now the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Section), the majority of the material dating 1961-1966. The papers relate to legal problems involving the state's natural resources or to organizations whose purpose is to study and protect such assets. Each subject is listed individually on the location guide, but major categories of material included are fish, game, Great Lakes Commission, inland waters, land management and utilization, petroleum, pollution, recreation, resource laws, and parks.
